THIS PANDEMIC HAS TAUGHT ME THE DEEP VALUE OF VOCATION

Work is rearranging the raw material of God’s creation in such a way that it helps the world in general, and people in particular, thrive and flourish.
— Tim Keller

A Vocation isn’t something you choose, like who you marry or what you eat or what car you buy; it’s something you unearth. You dig out. And you discover.

I wouldn’t say I chose to shoot adventure elopements for a living— But it hella chose me somehow! And the path it has taken me down has brought more joy and life into my soul than I could ever have imagined. So I think Tim’s definition of ‘work’ is spot on!

I love what I do so much— Having it stripped away from me month after month while we endure this COVID Crisis has truly made me reflect on how valuable having a vocation is and how worthwhile running after it can be.

Living out our vocation is the art of our humanity— it’s the reason we wake up, it’s the fire in our butt and it’s the passion that fuels our soul.

The value of running after our vocation is immensely meaningful. It’s more important than a lot of things. Sometimes running after your vocation will be a lot harder than other times— But the alternative is sitting and watching life pass you by, not ever knowing what you could have been apart of.
