I’m the Leatherman— for your elopement
Here’s the Story:
While most people who visit Hawaii for the first time will go home and dream about what it would be like to live there, some of us will go home, sell everything, strap our skateboard to our chest and head right back to the airport…
That’s me 8 years ago -leaving San Diego with my one way back to Kauai…
I’m a Adventurer & Storyteller
My journey began as an adventure landscape photographer…
I moved out to the island of Kauai in 2014 to teach adventure photography workshops with National Geographic photographer, Patrick Kelly. For years, we took visitors out to all the ridiculously awesome spots around the island and showed them how to take super cool pics.
Teaching class after class after class, year after year, I developed a rich knowledge and understanding of how to capture stunning locations really well.
This kind of skill naturally led to lots of other new photo opportunities.
Editors started reaching out, and I began doing photo assignment work for several different travel and outdoor publications. Maybe you’ve seen some of my published works in your favorite outdoorsy travel magazines like Backpacker or Outside!?
Somehow couples also kept finding my adventure photography website when they were searching for adventure wedding photographers to shoot their wedding.
They loved the way I captured the landscapes and raw experiences in my adventures and wondered if I would also shoot their elopement.
I took on one couple at a time and as the ‘adventure elopement experience’ started to catch on to popular trends— Vows With Views kind of just evolved!
In 2020, believe it or not- I was COMPLETELY booked full for elopes that year! I was dancing and prancing around on the beach and then all of a sudden COVID hit all of us like a brick in the face outta nowhere🤯
Hawaii, specifically Kauai, completely closed up and I lost 100% of my bookings into the next year…..
I sat around on the island, twirling my thumbs for the first six months, but then, I had to get back behind my cam…..
I decided to come over to the mainland and start shooting. There was no concrete game plan but there was a one-way ticket into Portland for $99 bucks and a Dodge Durango I could rent for 60 from enterprise for like $6 bucks a day….
So that’s what I did….
One exciting shoot lead to another and here I am, 3 years later- living on the road full-time! Eloping peeps all over the west and then helping them have these sic airstream adventures for their honeymoon😛 (Yeah, you heard me, I I went all in for our couples last year and bought them an airstream to stay in for their elope trip!🤯 )
Nothing cinematically put together by any means here, but these are the scrap clips from my celly of my first two months on the mainland… 😜
What I’m usually up to in my spare time…

This is what rad couples that I’ve got to work with are saying:
“
Had the pleasure of working with Mallory for our wedding and couldn't have been happier. Totally down to earth and easy going person. Don't let her casual Kauai looks fool you- she's a pro and her images speak volumes.
I think what sets her apart from other photographers is that she's into creating unique one off sessions that will require effort on everyone's part. You get what you pay for... she's not cheap but she's excellent. Glad we spent the big bucks on her. Totally worth it. Totally trusted her and it totally paid off!”She took us to a remote part of the island and we hiked into amazing cliffs and places that had million dollar views. She's unique. And so will your photos.... 2 thumbs up!

We hired Mallory as our photographer for our January destination wedding in Kauai and could not have been more pleased. It was difficult to find someone that had a modern style I liked but I knew Mallory was the one as soon as I came across her wedding portfolio on vowswithviews.com. We chose the full coverage package which includes so many little extras, the best being an additional "adventure session" which allowed us to spend some time with Mallory prior to our big day and get comfortable being in front of the camera. Mallory is super laid back but very clearly a professional and worked hard to get us the best shots. We are SO happy with our decision to hire her and would do so again in a heartbeat!

We had several guests comment on how involved Mallory was in getting the right shots, using the light and on top of it she was so chill about everything and didn't make us feel rushed or pressured to be anywhere or do anything that made us feel weird.
This was the first "professional" photo shoot for my husband and I and that could make some people feel awkward but she totally put us at ease which made the pictures all the better.
My husband I live on Maui which feels like the wedding capital of the world, people eloping and getting married left and right. There are lots of choices for photographers but I genuinely feel that Mallory is one of the best in Hawaii (and no big deal coming from other islands, that's how it is here!) We were so thrilled to work with her and we see huge things coming in her future. She is one of the most talented photographers out there and I would book her while you can!

I love Mallory's work. She is an amazing photographer and cool person to talk with. My husband took a photograph workshop with her and had a great experience (definitely check out Kauai Adventure Photography Workshops). Mallory also took family photos of us, and the photos came out awesome. She made us all feel at easy and was great with my toddler. Our photos were very natural and captured the beautiful of Kauai around us. And Mallory provided us the pictures quickly (a little over a week).
