So you wanna explore Colorado?

Mal put this trip together herself. As a gal who’s been exploring the full variety of epic nature in this region for years, this route that she’s handcrafted hits all the best stuff. You’ll get to experience how colorful and wild CO is!

Colorado’s one of the best states for road trippin! If you plan on eloping with us in the San Juan Mountains, we’ll keep the party rollin for a whole week, showing ya all the other cool stuff Colorado has to offer:

Day 1, 2 & 3: The San Juan Mountains

You’ll fly into Montrose Airport and drive down to Ouray (30 min drive) where you’ll finally meet Mal (your elopement photog and camp hosts for the week)
You’ll spend your first day in the mountains getting acclimated and picking up your marriage license.
The next day we’ll have your elopement and spend the following day celebrating before hittin the road!
Day 4: Black Canyon of the Gunnison

We’ll finish exploring around the San Juans in the morning and then take off for one of the most underrated NP’s in the country: Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Only an hour away from the mountains, you’ll spend the afternoon and sunset exploring the park and taking in them views. We’ll set up camp either right in the park or somewhere nearby.
Day 5: Great Sand Dunes NP

After taking in sunrise in the canyon we’ll pack everything up and make the 3 1/2 hour drive to Great Sand Dunes NP and spend the afternoon exploring the park, the sunset taking in the views and the nightfall either counting the stars or chillin in some super rad hot springs Mal found on her last scout trip! We’ll set camp up for ya either in the park, by a dope waterfall that’s right by the park or at the Hot Springs!
Day 6 & 7: Colorado Springs

We’ll wake up on day 6 and take our time making the drive up to CO Springs where you’ll spend the last couple days of your trip!

So far, you’ve been exploring a bunch of wild small towns in the mountains, canyons and desert all week but to end things Mal and the Crew want you to experience some some of that true CO city life.
CO Springs is honestly, the best of both worlds. It’s a fun, lively city with an awesome downtown and nightlife AND has incredible Parks and Peaks all around it.
For your last two nights we’ll camp on the outskirts of the city in one of our favorite state parks and you’ll get to explore the Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak and some other awesome secret gems Mal happens to know about😉
Day 8: Fly home from COS or Drive back to Montrose

This is where we part ways. If you have the extra time and want to loop back around to Montrose, we’ll suggest an awesome route with epic stuff to check out. Otherwise, you’ll drop off your car rental at the airport and fly out of Colorado Springs!
